Who we are

Bibi Rabindranauth is the Founder and Director of Bibi’s Tutoring Center, established in 2020 to support students navigating academic transition, cultural adjustment, and the demands of studying in the United States. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bibi saw how overwhelming U.S. education systems could be for international and immigrant students, especially those balancing visa requirements, online learning, and unfamiliar academic expectations. What began as a response to disruption grew into a mission centered on access, confidence, and global student success.

As a graduate student herself during this period, Bibi understood the pressures of high academic standards, limited guidance, and the challenge of excelling in a system that was not designed with every student in mind. Through persistence and determination, she earned recognition as a Presidential Scholar and LCU Scholar, graduated with Departmental Honors, and maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA demonstrating what is possible with the right support.

Today, Bibi is an Adjunct Lecturer at the City University of New York (CUNY) and teaches ESL summer courses at Manhattan College, working closely with international, visa, and multilingual students. With over 30 years of experience in education, she has served as a former high school teacher, Master-Certified CRLA Tutor, Certified Teacher, ESL instructor, and Health Education Specialist. Bibi holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion from Lehman College, the City University of New York, an Associate of Science degree in Dietetics and Nutrition Science from Bronx Community College–CUNY, and is an alumna of Cyril Potter College of Education in Guyana, where she was honored as Best Graduating Student in Secondary Training and Best Graduating Spanish Teacher.

As Lead Educator at Bibi’s Tutoring Center LLC, Bibi leads a team of experienced tutors who understand the academic, linguistic, and cultural challenges international and visa students face. We provide personalized support for F-1 and other visa students, helping them maintain academic standing while adjusting to U.S. classroom norms, grading systems, and faculty expectations.

Our services include ESL and academic English support, preparation for ESL placement exams, and guidance for standardized English proficiency assessments. We also specialize in academic writing support, assisting students with essays, research papers, lab reports, discussion posts, and citation styles commonly used in U.S. colleges and universities. Our goal is not just correction, but skill-building so students gain confidence, independence, and long-term success.

Our tutors work in a culturally sensitive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves. With strong knowledge of local colleges, campuses, and student support systems, we help international learners communicate effectively with professors, manage coursework, and fully engage in their academic communities.

We offer flexible scheduling, including accommodations for different time zones and demanding academic schedules.
